Forever 21 Fall Haul

I realized soon into this fall season that I was sorely missing out on a few staples that I absolutely love! Firstly, I snagged two different sweater dresses (in charcoal and in a cream color). I had to toss one of my favorite sweater dresses due to a massive hole in the knitting which couldn't be fixed with a little sewing unfortunately. I'm hoping that these two will be great for this season!

Secondly, I picked up that wonderful green pleated skirt, which I think will look great this fall! Hopefully I can layer it with tights and a cute sweater on top.

Lastly, I was able to find a plaid blouse, something that could be worn by itself or under a solid-colored sweater. I haven't quite been able to pull it off because my other plaid shirts are just a little too thick, so hopefully this will solve that conundrum!

Forever 21 has always been a good way to fill out my wardrobe when I'm a little short on money, and while it's not the same as saving up for a super high quality item, it's definitely a perk to know you can get all of this for the price of a pair of nice jeans!

Happy Monday!

Fall is Here to Stay

Fall has got to be one of my favorite seasons for a few reasons. Firstly, it means that my favorite pieces of clothing have come out of storage and are now in the front of my closet! Boots, scarves, sweater dresses, you name it. It's finally reached a temperature here in Columbus where I can stand to wear these things outside and now feel like I'm baking! Secondly, I love the things to eat and drink in fall. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, mostly due to the food but also for the time that I get to spend with my family. As for drinks, I can get away with drinking hot chocolate on the daily as well as put anything pumpkin in my coffee drinks. It's a win win in my book! And last but not least, I love the colors of fall. The reds, oranges and yellows in the leaves can completely change how a street looks in such a short amount of time, and really brings back memories of my childhood raking leaves and playing outside in this weather. Every year I get just a little giddy waiting for this season to peek it's head around the corner :)

Listed below are a few of my choices when it comes to accessories for fall, including scarves and boots. So many choices, and not enough time to list all of the ones that I love! I do like to go to Nordstrom for many things, just because of how convenient it is to find everything that I need, but I also do find that for fall items I can also find some things at stores like L.L.Bean and J.Crew, who I go back to for certain staples (scarves at L.L.Bean and jackets at J.Crew).

Weekend Wardrobe

Top//Jeans//Shoes (similar here)

Happy weekend everyone! It's been a while since I've posted anything, but school has been extremely busy (exams start this week eek!). This past week, though, I bought the cutest top from Target (of all places!). It's 3/4 length sleeve and I bought it in this white and black and also in a red/orange color as well. Perfect for fall! Just checked and it's now not listed online, check out their stores to see if it's still there. I tend to like wearing tops like this with jeans or even leggings, and then a cute pair of booties. The ones that I'm wearing are no longer available (last years style), but they are Sperry Topsider Ambrose booties, which I'm in love with. The color combination as well as the leather opposed with the suede make these boots super versatile. There are tons more options out there this fall, check out Nordstrom for the newest styles!

More details of the top, it has a cute back zipper detail!

Happy Sunday!!

Back to School Essentials

Now that it is pretty much fall, and that I am back in school, it almost seems impossible to not think about studying, sitting in class, and taking exams all of my free time (lovely!!). While I love school, and I really do actually love school, sometimes it's nice to think about the little things that go along with school to not get bogged down by all of the material (yes vet school is just as/ if not more difficult than med school).

I love school supplies, and I have stuck with the same staples for years that have made it super easy for me to feel comfortable in the classroom and have made it very easy to organize my thoughts and my notes. Firstly, it is crucial that when you're walking to school you have at least one good pair of trusty sunglasses. I love mine that I've pictured above (here!) but TBH it all depends on what you're going for when you dress in the morning. I tend to go for more classic designs, so even a Wayfarer or even the clubmaster in this wonderful tortoiseshell!! (Looks terrible on me but wow can some people pull these off!).

I will also say that having a great water bottle can do wonders for your time in and out of the classroom. I personally like ones like the Cambak I have pictured above, but I have had a Brita with the built-in filter and I really like that one as well. This one looks wonderful because you can store cards in it, so going to the gym would be a breeze with this!

I'm going to geek out for a little bit and talk about how much I LOVE highlighters and pens!! Love them, I could not buy too many of these! I personally like the Sharpie highlighters due to the fact that they're highlighters which means that I can focus my eyes towards main points in my notes or Powerpoints from class, but I also have been eyeing these babies for a while (and I actually got them for my little through school as a welcome gift!). I'll write a review of them if I end up buying them, but I'm holding off for now just to save a little money before I splurge.

Last but not least, a good agenda can mean the world between being all over the place and being organized! I absolutely love the Lilly Pulitzer agendas due to their durability and their cute color combinations as well as the wonderful stickers put at the front of the agenda! My new agenda  I got on vacation in the Outer Banks at the same store that I always get it from and I love it to death. It does wonders with my studying habits and organization! Here are a few other planners that would also be wonderful, depending on what you're looking for and what price point.

Happy Friday!!

Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?

In light of the anniversary of "The Flood" as many have now started calling it, I wanted to look back on a few of the things that make me miss this wonderful city. New Orleans was my home for four years, and while volunteering was a huge reason why I decided to go to a school like Tulane, in a city like New Orleans, I feel like an event like Katrina leaves an indelible mark on the city and its people.

Don't Trust Us, We Already Lost one Colony: Manteo, NC

I love a good trip into Manteo, an island city on the sound of North Carolina. It was originally settled before the Outer Banks were due to the safety of it being on the sound rather than on the ocean, and so the architecture of the city is just amazing. Anyways, enjoy the photos, and I have also listed some of my favorite shops in the city.

My favorite shops include:

Wanchese Pottery
Coffee House on Roanoke Island
Downtown Books
John Silver Gallery
Sleeping In, Ltd.
